We are living in strange times, where just being kind to each other doesn’t seem to be as important as “letting go toxic people.” Sometimes the issue isn’t that the other person is objectively toxic so much as that we ourselves are so judgmental.

Shaming people for being judgmental is inherently judgmental. Sorry, we have shame fatigue! If measurable toxicity is in the eye of the beholder surely yardsticks for kindness are subjective, too. Releasing people can remove circumstances/occasions for decidedly unkind behavior.

I agree with Marianne. These terms ‘ staying in your bliss’ ‘ stream of positivity ‘ etc is not always possible. Nor do I want a life that means I am unwilling to reach out and step into a tragedy of another’ pain- to walk with them through distress.
