Tears for those who have died & care for those who remain. Parents and friends: Due to the tragic deaths of Mollie Tibbetts and others, it should become a new given that no woman should go hiking or jogging on a trail by herself. May those who have been victimized Rest In Peace.

I respectfully disagree Marianne. If I give up my right to be out in nature by myself, enjoying the wonders of creation, in quiet, they've won.

Some cite statistics. Do we know how many women there are who walk alone who are never attacked?

I found the path to this slice of heaven walking alone in the park Sunday. It fed my soul. It was what I needed to recharge. I needed solitude in nature. Please reconsider what your message implies to girls and women about doing such a simple thing.

Thank you Marianne. As a runner for 30 yrs in San Diego, I have learned of situations of female runners attacked in the dark, on trails (17y.o. Chelsea King🙏🏽) and on public streets in broad daylight; & it’s not occurred w/ 2 runners together or to women who run w/dogs.
