Tears for those who have died & care for those who remain. Parents and friends: Due to the tragic deaths of Mollie Tibbetts and others, it should become a new given that no woman should go hiking or jogging on a trail by herself. May those who have been victimized Rest In Peace.

Why? She was jogging!! No men should feel like he has the right to take a life just because she was running alone! Women are as free to move as men! Educate men to respect women!

No one is saying she doesn’t have a right to go wherever she wants; the issue is a pattern of violence we all need to be aware of. A man who murders a woman more than “disrespects” her.

As the dad of 3 girls, I’m always concerned about their safety, which is why I emphasize seat belts, never drink & drive, have a buddy when drinking, things that actually make a difference. Will never say to stop running alone in areas where risk is statistically insignificant

Please do not use this tragic incident to rob women of their freedom based on statistically insignificant risks. Telling women to only run/walk with buddies will kill result in more deaths from heart diseases by far.

Sadly, this tragedy highlights how media sensationalizes the rare & underplays the common shifting focus from important to irrelevant. The reason why a story because so rare, not because actual issue. npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/…

I bought a treadmill for this very reason. I never felt safe. I just walk my dog back and forth on my street only. It’s so sad we have to do things like this.

Your statement is an affront to women and victims. The focus/blame should never be on the victim
