Tears for those who have died & care for those who remain. Parents and friends: Due to the tragic deaths of Mollie Tibbetts and others, it should become a new given that no woman should go hiking or jogging on a trail by herself. May those who have been victimized Rest In Peace.

To those who view the “buddy system” as fear mongering.....if someone suggests I keep my hand out of a burning fire to protect myself from losing my hand, I should call this “fear mongering” as well?

As Marianne suggests, “look at the statistics” for burning ones hand if it’s placed directly into a fire.

I’m reading your book 52 Ways to Live the Course in Miracles. It seems that you might want to rethink your comment!

On the one hand, I agree..but what if you want to run and your running partner isn't available? Are you supposed to just sit home? I think forming a running club or network may be a solution.

It makes me cringe to see the continued loss of personal freedoms due to violence and that violence is firmly rooted in the lack of love and respect and forgiveness. Maybe we can work on the other end of it for a while and save some of our personal freedoms?

Maybe a better solution is for women to rescue a Pit Bull and go hiking with them. Then nobody will mess with them. I jog with mine every day. 🐶

We need to teach our girls to stop being "nice" . There is no need to "threaten to call 911" DIAL. Tell them where you are and what your potential attacker looks like.

Half of all female homicide victims are killed by their intimate partners so while I’m at it should I also stop dating and loving? Let me know.
