I am a middle class and I am worried about the economic realities of welfare of all would really mean. We are at least 15 trilion in debt maybe more now. Iit’s just a “utopian socialist fantasy”.

It's not a 'utopian socialist fantasy' in Europe or Canada- what is this fear in the American psyche that will not support others less able or well off?

Which is why I ask what is it in the American psyche that makes it impossible? Other nations manage it, many who are not as wealthy as the US.

Remember that almost 3 million more people voted for another candidate. The selfishness and bigotry you now see is a minority perspective that has been harnessed for political purposes. It is not who we are.

No, we have the same here in the UK with Brexit and in local politics too. It seems to be a trend in modern politics. While it's not a minority vote, those in power seem to be able to harness this bigotry and selfishness.
