Confederate flag to a black person is like a Nazi flag to a Jew; such symbols need to be removed. Confederate statues could be in a museum, replaced by winning submissions in a contest to create great contemporary art to replace them. We can respond to the past & reset the future

I’d like to see the parks where these monuments stand actually be expanded to include greater historical influences. Suppression has a tendency to make things worse.

I don't think we should tout such things, but it is important for future generations to know our real history, so we must be careful not to whitewash it.

That is exactly what that museum relic means. I grew up in the deep south and still live in the south. Huge confederate flags hanging off flag poles of giant wheeled trucks let themselves be known up and down our highways! It represents chaos & fear, real on all sides.

Anyone flying the confederate flag is essentially flying the swastika. Both represent the evil of white supremacy. The genocidal politics of white nationalism. These traitors MUST NOT lecture others on patriotism.
