1) In 1965, the Voting Rights Act was signed into law; in 2015, the Supreme Court issued a ruling that gutted it. They said it was “no longer necessary” to protect voting rights, but of course as soon as they issued their ruling voter suppression efforts began around the country.

The ruling did not say there is no longer a need to protect voters rights It said the remedies in 1965 are not applicable to today. They ruled the 14th and 15 the amendments protect voter rights. Please give an example of voter suppression.
