Significantly contributing to the de-democratization of the US has been a failure to teach our youth what democracy even is. Only 8 states require civics education! If you don’t learn the Bill of Rights as a child, you don’t know to be apalled as an adult when it’s under attack.

That's why parenting is a thing. No one should depend on the gov. to make sure their lives have its needs met. An effective way to assure children know about the Constitution is to make a Family Preamble & Bill of Rights that establishes the family’s values.
