It’s tough. If you use Germany, you raise the specter of hitler, and that shits down conversation with those you want to reach. Germany’s hardly a precise parallel, but it’s a good example of a populace falling into authoritarianism willingly.

Or how about teach it in history class. Amazing what the left has taken from our education system.
