It’s not that USA was ever perfect. It’s not that we never did anything wrong. But prior to this it was generally agreed that we should TRY to be good, that values mattered & we should do better when we fell short. Let the world know that what is happening now is not who we are.

Before this current occupier of the white house, Presidents appealed to our higher angels. Instead, he appeals to our worst demons.

It’s not who I am but there are still a lot of Trump supporters and it is who they are and who he is. They voted for the pussy grabber. They were cool with that. It is who they are.

Patterns: One I see wth #45 is that he's oriented to image & visuals. He barks, but everyone knows that loud bullies are mostly #fake. He also projects much (psych projection). He barked loudly about the wall, when confronted he meekly backs off. He tries clumsily to see

We as a country should learn the lessons of history to not repeat the dark days of the mistakes made. But since @realDonaldTrump does not know history and is not willing to learn any lessons we are doomed to be shocked by him over and over again with cruel and abusive policies!

I struggle with this, because the American (legal) way has been indigenous genocide, slavery, the Chinese Exclusion Act, lynhings, Internment Camps, Operation Wetback, turning away Jews fleeing from the Holocaust and turning away current refugees...it’s systemic xenophobia.

There is usually an "autopsy." McCarthy was bad. Let's not let that happen again. Nixon. That wasn't good. Note: It sometimes takes more than once.
