Maybe those parents shouldn’t be trying to illegally enter a country with their children in tow and then they wouldn’t be separated

All I’m saying is if they went about the process legally, they wouldn’t be in this situation

There’s a difference between understanding and just letting every single person into the country whenever they want when they don’t go through the proper procedure. Laws are a thing for a reason

That’s not what this is about.

The reasons folks emigrate are varied and a huge part of the equation. If done legally families would not be subject to separation. But that does not fit your narrative.
