I was always moved by the NFL players kneeling, because men who had attained great success within the system were saying that had not been bought off, that they remembered those underserved & disserved. What’s happened to us that we’re so afraid of healthy disagreement & protest?

Football was the one place where people of all political persuasions could go and enjoy themselves. Not standing for the National Anthem has caused such division. They have other platforms to protest. What has happened to patriotism in this country?🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Alana the NFL players’ protests during the anthem has never been about the military or the flag. It has always been about police brutality

They have many platforms on which to voice their opinions. Why bring it into a sporting event where people really want to go and have a good time and not fight over politics. That’s one place people can come together as just Americans.

To me it remained a place where we came together as Americans. Freedom doesn’t mean we all have to agree; it means we do NOT have to agree. People are acting as though patriotism means we all have to toe the same line out of respect for the flag. Actually the opposite is true.

No, of course we all don’t agree. But surely it can’t make you feel good to see all the anger and dissension caused in our country by one man being a jerk. These wealthy, powerful players have plenty of platforms. Why ruin the game for the rest of us?
Now it’s about the flag. Before it was the anthem. Just like the players. Make up your mind. They can protest all they want. The customers or ticket holders don’t pay to watch political protests.
