90% of a child’s brain develops before the age of five, but most American families cannot afford childcare. Childcare at this point costs on average between $10,000 and $15,000 a year. So in the richest country in the world, the average family cannot live on only one salary, allowing one parent to stay home - yet child care costs are prohibitive. This is why we need an economic Bill of Rights providing subsidized childcare. We waste billions of dollars feeding the coffers of corporate greed, and do almost nothing to help parents and small children. #Disruptthecorrupt #Marianne2024 marianne2024.com/economic-bi…

FDR proposed an Economic Bill of Rights to “secure (our) rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” We need to take up where he left off. #Marianne2024 marianne2024.com/economic-bi…

It is now a multi-polar world. China already HAS influence on the world stage and if they are the ones who have a better idea right now, then so be it. All the United States is offering at this point is support for the use of brute force in doing what brute force of itself cannot do. We have to do everything possible to find a better way.

China has called for an emergency international peace conference, bringing together large powers of the world to help broker peace between Israel and Palestinians. Details still unclear, but in theory YES. reuters.com/world/chinas-for…

Many thanks to the folks at the College of William and Mary last night…
I got to meet @marwilliamson tonight. Talking to her and hearing her speak, off script, for over 2 hours absolutely blew me away. #Marianne2024 #mariannewilliamson

Israel invading Gaza will only increase the horror for both peoples. The world - including the U.S. - is being faced with the limits to the power of brute force. My hope is that some country or group of countries is stepping in right now and trying to broker a better way. That is what the world should do. And that is what I would do. #ceasefire

This is as true today, and it speaks to the greatest danger in our midst. Our problem is not the threat of fascism, so much as it’s the complacency and lack of conviction with which we are facing the problem.
German poet Heinrich Heine was once asked why men no longer build cathedrals. He replied: “People in those old times had convictions; we moderns only have opinions. And it needs more than a mere opinion to erect a Gothic cathedral.” Cologne Cathedral took 632 years to complete. Does modern man have the necessary conviction to build something like this today?

Gen Z realizes every other advanced democracy has the things I’m proposing: universal healthcare, tuition-free college, guaranteed sick pay, and so so much more. #GenZ #Marianne2024 #ANewBeginning

Do people who live in every other advanced democracy and have universal health care feel “enslaved?” Do people who have to put a go fund me page up on the Internet to procure a life-saving operation for themselves or their loved ones feel “free?”

Anything less than the above is the “unserious” campaign. It is unserious in its failure to realize how close the angry mob is to the gates of the Bastille. “We won’t have to worry about a fascist takeover in this country as long as democracy delivers on its promises.” - FDR And that is what will win… 5/5 #disruptthecorrupt #Marianne2024 #economicbillofrights

None of those things will come with the wave of a wand. But we can elect a President who stands for them, and a Congress that aligns with her vision. Anything less, and we will re-elect Trump. Too many people who are angry about the above will vote for him. And too many people who are depressed about the above will simply stay home and not vote. 4/5

We will win in 2024 by responding in a meaningful way to the despair of millions of people - not with crumbs thrown down by a DC elite, or an incremental approach that doesn’t offend Wall Street, but with *fundamental economic reform.* Universal healthcare - now. Tuition free college and tech school - now. Subsidized child care - now. Paid family leave - now. Guaranteed housing - now. Guaranteed living wage - now. 3/5

Chronic economic anxiety leads to dangerous levels of personal and societal dysfunction. Telling people who worry on a daily basis how they’re going to pay their bills, that they should be happy because of an Infrastructure Bill here or a Chips Act there or a few crumbs here or a warning about fascism over there, is a delusional perspective on how to win in 2024. 2/5
