When the Covid emergency officially ends this week, 15 million people will be thrown off Medicaid and 30 million will lose SNAP benefits. I'm willing to bet that most of the people making excuses for all those "qualified" people who decided to end the emergency 1) have decent healthcare, 2) are not hungry, and 3) have never had a hunger child. nytimes.com/2023/02/28/us/po…

Of course they knew. They did not care.
🚨New internal documents provide more damning evidence that Shell knew decades ago that burning fossil fuels posed a threat to the climate, wildlife, plants, and humans. "Civilisation could prove a fragile thing,” one confidential 1989 memo warned. desmog.com/2023/03/31/lost-d…

I don’t think you know too much about the Democratic Party 50 or 60 years ago, and I do. Believe me, it was not made up of a majority of corporate Democrats. Corporate Democrats today are what Republicans were like when I was growing up. Nice people, yes, but in a democracy we get to disagree.

You can look at the issues page at Marianne2024.com, if you’re actually interested in my platform. And how will we get universal healthcare with a president who says he will veto a MedicareForAll bill and won’t even support a public option? I pretend no magic powers. It’s my self-confidence that annoys you, perhaps. A man who claims what he can do is seen so differently…

I certainly do not apologize for the “unique cruelty” of the GOP and I do not agree with your line about “most of them…at this point.” I’m running to offer a more winning alternative to the GOP than the agenda of corporate Democrats. It’s called an election… and the people are supposed to decide.

Running on a platform that would do that IS the help

Franklin Roosevelt said we wouldn’t have to worry about a fascist takeover “as long as democracy delivered on it blessings.” My “talking points” are that democracy should deliver on its blessings. Offering people anything *less* than that is what helps the fascists.

Too many in Washington are emotionally buffered from the ravages of human despair, consistently passing legislation that makes it easier for those who already have to get more, and harder for those who do not have to even survive… Let’s change that. marianne2024.com

When enough people start to say what everyone knows but too few have been willing to say out loud… when enough people figure out that the system as it is will not work for them, no matter how many times we beg it to… then something pushes up from the bottom of things and an inflection point becomes inevitable. America has changed directions before. It’s time to change direction again.
