I cannot even imagine what it would be like to be in your Twenties and carry tens of thousands of dollars of college loan debt. And we wonder where the mental health crisis comes from? Economic anxiety is a pit of despair. Every American should realize that college and public universities were tuition free up until the mid-1960s. Unfettered capitalism is ravenous in its search for a profit center, even if it emerges from or causes human suffering. How dare we tell young people they should have respect for capitalism when they. have. no. capital! None of this will change until we change it. #ANewBeginning

Given that 1/3 of working Americans live on less than $15 an hour, taking away food stamp benefits is cruel. The system is increasingly violent in its willingness to squeeze every penny from those who don’t have and pour endless largess onto those who do.

Middle-of-the-road energy and policies, moving further to the right supposedly to pick up more Independents, will not beat the Republicans in 2024. It will only turn off the Democrat's most energetic base, who are seeing their lives and their futures bartered away. To win in 2024, we need the energy of a true American populism, an uprising of conscience and justice that the establishment calls "extreme" for no other reason than that it is "extremely" American - dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, endowed by God with the alienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. What is "extreme" are the forces that have *denied* people health care, tuition-free college, free child care, a livable wage, guaranteed sick pay and family leave. Such policy positions are considered *moderate* in every other advanced democracy, and those who call them "extreme" are merely advancing the financial interests of those who would deny them to the people. Time's up. It's time for #ANewBeginning.

The benefit of every green energy effort financed by the Inflation Reduction Act will be wiped out by the 280 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions produced by the Willow Project. She either doesn't realize this, or thinks the gaslighting will work.
We are building a clean energy economy. What that means is clean air and water, and millions of new good-paying jobs.

18 million Americans can’t afford to fulfill the prescriptions their doctors give them. It simply doesn’t happen where there’s universal healthcare.… as in every. other. advanced. democracy! #Medicare4All
It is inexcusable that insurance companies and Medicare don’t cover meds prescribed by doctors (PROVEN effective) for a wide range of medical conditions. It’s a moral outrage with real human cost; Americans deserve better. #MedicareForAll

America’s greatest resource is the brain of every child. The way to guarantee a thriving society in 20 years is to do everything we can to help every 10 year old thrive today. Those who come from advantaged homes stand a very good chance of inheriting the advantage. Those who do not - and that is the majority of our children - stand a very good chance of inheriting the despair. For our system has no use for those who do not immediately feed it. Too young to vote, our children form no constituency. Too young to work, they have no financial leverage. Right now, they are collateral damage in a war we are waging against ourselves. marianne2024.com/issues/us-d…

Florida under DeSantis: First he wanted a law to make anyone blogging about him have to register with the state. Then a law making it a felony to drive an undocumented worker in your car or to have them in your home. Now he wants a ban on college classes and studies and sororities he doesn’t like. Does that sound like America to you…?

That does not keep our communities safe. Police do not have the legal right to just randomly kill people. Extrajudicial killings is one of the most illegal things in the world.

One of the most urgent questions facing our country is this: what makes police feel they have permission to act this way?
Police cajoled Najee Seabrooks to come out the bathroom then shot and killed him. #justice4Najee.
