Exactly the point.
Why are ethics questions always like: "is it ethical to steal bread to feed your starving family?" And not: "is it ethical to hoard bread when families are starving?"

Read it and weep.
Cancer rates are skyrocketing in the US because the chemical industry writes many of our environmental laws. Thousands of deadly toxins banned throughout the world are legal here. Brilliant article by @ProPublica that you won't see in the NYT.⬇️ propublica.org/article/toxic…

Debating the house rules on the floor today, and the first amendment offered by a Republican is about making stricter the rules of what women have to wear in here.

Cold hearted bastards.
“They explicitly recognize that there's going to need to be increases in unemployment to contain inflation,” says @LHSummers when discussing the Federal Reserve and the US labor market. Tune into “Wall Street Week,” airing Friday's at 6 pm ET trib.al/a3BXG16

Instead of asking about every policy how much money it would make corporations, we should ask about every policy how many people it would make happy.

We have 275 millions cars in this country, and more and more traffic laws. We have 415 million guns in this country, and fewer and fewer gun safety regulations. Can anyone say "insane?"

Are you equating the size of our military budget with the level of our national security?

Plus it expands the mind, which in a sane society matters.

People should never have had to take out those loans to begin with. $1.8 trillion is about what we spend on defense in 2 yrs. Changing from war to peace economy means investing more in things that promote peace - i.e. healthcare and education - than on things that promote war.
Allow me to state the obvious: having 46 million people drowning in $1.8 trillion of student debt is not sustainable for working families, or for our country.

An economy that’s strong for the few at the expense of the many isn’t strong; it’s rigged. Until the system is fundamentally challenged then no matter which party is in charge the people will continue to lose. “Better jobs for the American people” is just code for “crumbs.” 3/3
