You're right about student loans, but he can't create an assault weapons ban with a stroke of his pen.

It’s good that Biden is calling for an assault weapons ban even though he knows he doesn’t have the votes for one. It’s important that he uses the bully pulpit to stand for the things that matter, even when those who are bought and sold by the NRA refuse to do the right thing.

I can vouch for that. But also shocking how many so easily fall in line.

It’s what you just said. Everyone knew he was dying then and they strong-armed him. One of the saddest “if only’s.”

As we officially head into the holiday season, we can consciously decide to repudiate the crass commercialism of the season and experience its higher gifts instead: the unshackling of our imaginations and the activation of our hearts.

If the DNC had kept their fingers off the scale in the 2016 primary, I don’t know if Hillary or Bernie would have won it. But either way, people would have felt it was a fair election, they would have shown up to vote for the winner, and Trump would never have been president.
