That has been since then though. He was extremely successful then! Both the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act were accomplished, dismantling segregation.
SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act a few years ago, which is why we are where we are today with voter suppression.

This is the problem with limiting the focus of mental health concern to the individual.
For millions of Americans the economic system is so rigged against them that simply trying to survive is traumatizing.
That’s not a mental health problem; it’s an economic injustice problem
Depressing how much of healing from trauma comes down to ‘remind yourself that you’re safe now!’ when such a large percentage of the population is like one missed paycheck away from complete ruin and is not, in fact, safe and maybe never will be

There’s a lot to this.
We become obsessed by the symptoms but we resist looking at the deeper disease.
Biggest causes of learning loss in the USA:
-homelessness
-childhood hunger
-parental chronic illness + lack of healthcare access
-medical bankruptcy
-poor labor conditions resulting in multiple parental jobs & limited time home with kids
Spare me disingenuous pandemic concern.
