Washington DC is filled with political car mechanics - some of them very good ones.
Whoever the president is, such technicians are a necessary part of their administration.
But the problem now is not that we lack good car mechanics.
The problem is that we are on the wrong road.
39% of all Americans say they’re actually skipping meals in order to pay their rent.
44% of millennials now say that.
68,000 people die every year because they lack healthcare.
60% of Americans could not absorb a $400 unexpected expenditure.
It doesn’t matter that the car is in good shape… if it’s headed towards a cliff.

A common denominator I find among many who are angry at me for daring to challenge the accepted narrative and primary the president, is that they themselves have healthcare, neither they nor their children are shackled by college loan debt, they can afford to send their kids to college, and neither they nor their children are hungry.

The con is 50 years of neoliberal economics in which $50 trillion has been transferred from the bottom 90% to the top 1%.
The con is a system that denies the American people what citizens of other advanced democracies get: universal healthcare, tuition free college, free childcare, paid family leave & sick pay and a livable wage - while health insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, banks, big oil and defense contractors, make more and more billions every year.
The con is telling people climate change is an existential crisis, then giving more oil drilling permits than Trump did, approving the Willow project and approving natural liquified gas exports from Alaska - all of which nullify their other efforts at going green.
