No part of you thinks "certifiably insane" might be a little over the top?

There's a saying in AA about what happens when you grow "sick and tired of being sick and tired." You have to make a decision; your only two choices then are to spiral down, or to spiral up. It feels like the country is "sick and tired of being sick and tired" now, and people are spiraling down all over the place. What we need is a collective spiraling up, enough of us willing to say "No, we're not going down. We have decided not to. And we get that staying where we are is a form of spiraling down, just more slowly." We can choose to rise. We can commit to change, break with the past, cut the cord that has bound us to undue corporate influence on our government and on our lives, and start a season of repair. The only thing stopping us is the thought that it can't be done. #DisruptTheSystem Marianne2024.com

The real division in this country is not between left and right; the real division is between the powerful and the powerless.

And we’re supposed to be okay with this…?
Over 20,000 pounds of toxic sludge from Norfolk's train disaster in Ohio spilled when a truck carrying it away for disposal crashed. Officials again are saying the area is "safe" without testing the air or water. A corporate crime that will haunt the community for years.

The problem is both, and I do focus on both.

And this is what Americans are beginning to understand… There’s no good reason why Americans don’t have universal healthcare like they have in every other advanced democracy. Some politicians would have you believe “it’s complicated.” But it isn’t complicated. It’s corrupt.
This one time, as I was leaving the doctor’s office in Germany and they knew I was American the front desk quipped, “We’ll send you the bill.” I was like sure, okay — and then the staff burst out laughing. German joke! There’s no bill, not like in America. Ha ha! HA! 🙄😆

When the Founders wrote the Second Amendment, the largest guns they had were muskets. The modern bullet had not yet been invented. They could only shoot one bullet at a time. Today’s assault weapon would be like the power of a cannon to them. The Second Amendment is NOT a legitimate reason not to ban assault weapons. Ban them now.

I agree.

The death penalty doesn’t deter crime; it isn’t necessary for public safety; and it is wholly inconsistent with Louisiana’s pro-life values as it quite literally promotes a culture of death. For these reasons I support @RepKyleGreen’s bill to abolish the death penalty. #lagov

A dwindling portion of the population - usually a particular color and a particular religion - is freaking out en masse because a genuinely multicultural, multi ethnic, multi racial and multi sexual blossoming is occurring in the United States. What to many of us is the potential for a full actualization of the American ideal is to some a kind of psychological annihilation, an end to what they had been led to believe was their ownership of the American franchise. This is a bigger struggle than anything limited to a single situation or circumstance. The American ideal is going to win here. Justin Jones, Justin Pearson and Gloria Johnson, as well as their Tennessee supporters, are impeccable examples of standing for what’s right and doing so “on the high plane of dignity and discipline.” (MLK) We still have miles to go, but the lines have been drawn. The leaders are emerging. A love of justice fills the air.

“We need debt cancellation as a strategy for climate justice, and climate finance as grants, not loans.”
93% of the countries most vulnerable to climate change are in debt distress, or at risk of debt distress. It's time to recognise the the vicious cycle between the debt and climate crises. See @ActionAid's new briefing actionaid.org/publications/2… 1/
