Once it became obvious how the system was so abused, money should have been spent on finding the cheaters and demanding the money back. You realize some companies took huge loans and just fired people anyway, right?

She stands up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. The bankruptcy we should be worried about is the moral bankruptcy of those who do not like that. In fact she is among the best of the best.

Forgiving $700B of PPE loans most of which didn’t even make it to the workers for whom they were intended while forgiving only $200B in student debt relief is not just an economic decision, it’s social engineering. Jared Kushner’s co. had its entire $800,000 loan fully forgiven.

From my newest substack: Our dreams, art, reflection, love, need for rest and relaxation, desire for play, need for freedom, sense of justice, all are left off the ledger sheet and increasingly peripheralized by a system that cannot gain from them. mariannewilliamson.substack.…

So you think a huge corporate aristocracy our government just funnels money into is not a problem? You don't think that's a form of tyranny in itself? You're okay with it as long as we shrink government? Then who or what protects you from exploitation by those corporations?

The middle class tax part of it was good. In fact it should have been done before. But it was a cover for what they were really after: the 83 cents on every dollar tax cut for the richest. They gave you a piece of pie so they could give the very rich the whole kitchen.

Our moral outrage at the damage this is doing and will do to women all over this country is no less spiritually relevant than your moral outrage at the thought of a woman getting an abortion.

Hugely important race! New Hampshire Governor Sununu has signed a law demanding a rape victim get a transvaginal sonogram. A woman is then raped and traumatized once by a rapist, then a second time by her own government. We can win this one. Donate now to @TomShermanNH

“Robbing the poor and those who already paid off their loans?” Hardly. The 2017 $2T tax cut - which I assume you supported - where 83 cents of every dollar went to the richest individuals and corporations - THAT was robbing the poor.

They were told that getting a higher degree was the way to close the wealth gap. No one should be punished for trying to better themselves. The whole college loan system was and is a form of predatory lending. Higher Ed used to be affordable for everyone and it should be again

Should we have not given women the right to vote because it wasn’t fair to those who never got a chance to?

Why do some people think kindergarten through 12th grade is reasonable public education but anything beyond that is getting something for nothing? It’s reasonable govt investment to support people going as high in their education including technical school as they’re able to go.

I don’t begrudge you that. I’m glad you got it. But many people join the military because it’s the *only* way they feel they’ll get a chance at higher education. And that is wrong.

All we’re saying is that the payment should be minimal for everyone. That is how it used to be in this country, which built and maintained a middle class which has now been nearly destroyed.

Wait what??
Tell that to Jared Kushner's family... "The Kushner family's newspaper publisher Observer Holdings, LLC was approved in the first round of [PPP] loans on April 27, 2020 [under Trump]. The company got an $800,407 loan...The loan, including interest, was forgiven in full."

You deserve it, yes, but so do others who also contribute and are doing what they can to have a chance at contributing more.
