Democracy is important because it allows for the flourishing of the individual. Democracy is under attack not only overtly but also covertly, because the genuine human flourishing of the majority of people would undermine the neoliberal scam by which corporations rule the world

Fascism hasn't gotten a foothold in America due to an inherent desire for fascism. Fascism has gotten a foothold in America because democracy has failed to deliver. Many who say they believe in democracy the most have for 40 yrs stood idly by while far too many people suffered.

The reason they don't want to cancel the college loan debt, give universal health care or near free college tuition has little to do with economics. They don't want to do them because it would empower people... and empowering people would undercut the corporatist establishment

Think about this. Then multiply it by millions.
Tonight I went to my son’s open house. The cafeteria went over lunch/breakfast costs. For 1 child to eat breakfast & lunch daily= $140/mo. I saw the look of panic in many parents eyes who didn’t realize the free lunch program had ended. Universal free meals @ school must happen.

We've marched 10 miles this morning. It is 97° at 12 noon, but it will be 104° before we finish today’s 17 mile march. But we're determined to reach Sacramento. @CAgovernor sign #AB2183.

Does @HowardSchultz really think he’s gonna win this? He’s not. Neither are Amazon, Walmart or any other companies making greedy and immoral efforts to deny their workers a fair workplace. America is waking up: Multi-billion $ companies can afford to treat their workers well.
Sam Amato spent over a decade working as a barista for Starbucks near Buffalo, New York, and loves the company. But after he joined a union drive with Starbucks Workers United, he says the company didn’t care about his years of service — and fired him. jacobin.com/2022/08/starbuck…
