51% of all jobs in US at least indirectly related to the defense industry; why called a war economy. But those jobs could be transitioned to peaceful purposes - a just transition to a peace economy. The ROI on peaceful investments like health and education is actually greater.

You think they are not in our midst?

When we overcome the neofascist threat in our midst it will not just be because of things we do, it will also be because of who we have become. “We need a quantitative shift in our circumstances as well as a qualitative change in our souls.” - MLK Jr.

“Some tools used in peacemaking are accountability, forgiveness and sincere apologies….it really works to create healthier and safer communities.”
In South Dakota, the Oyate Court uses traditional Lakota peacemaking principles to stress healing over punishment, bypassing a system where Indigenous people comprise most of those arrested and nearly all the cops, prosecutors & judges are white. theguardian.com/us-news/2022…

If only.
It’s almost 4am and @SenSanders is about to call up his amendment to establish a Civilian Climate Corps to create 400,000 good-paying jobs for young Americans to combat climate change.

It’s terrible what has happened to Brittney Griner and I pray for her every day. At the same time, anyone who thinks people don’t get drug sentences just as draconian as that in this country are very naïve about what happens here. Free her, and free them.

Ah, but government policy is always taking care of someone! Instead of advocating for your interests, the government is taking care of the richest people in the world. Do you not have no problem with that?

One job should be able to do it, however.

Humane idea, as well
You ready for a radical idea? Here we go. You should not have to work two or three jobs just to keep a roof over your head.

We have to stop this insanity. Vote these people out at every possible turn. And yes, they are GOP.
Tennessee has introduced a bill to deputize "qualified" gun owners for exactly such purposes. washingtontimes.com/news/202…

For “fare evasion????” I’m not even mad, I just want to cry. What cruelty & barbarism we’re accepting as normal. Anyone who doesn’t think that these are the precedents of a police state doesn’t understand what a police state is. And we’re being asked to fund more of this…?

Please yes.
I’m LIVE now to make this clear: If all 50 members of the Democratic Caucus were to stand together today, we could pass some very important amendments to profoundly improve the lives of working people and begin to restore faith in our democracy. nitter.vloup.ch/i/broadcasts/1BR…
