The only reason World War II didn’t end catastrophically was because people behaved appropriately. And we have to behave appropriately now.

We will change that! It didn’t happen in a day for FDR and it won’t happen in a day for us. A lot had to happen for people to see the threat then, just as it’s taking people time to understand the threat now. But they will.

Govt did that when they put people’s lives & livelihood before corporate profits
Our govt today lets people die rather than exert any control over Ins/Pharma and suffer hi gas prices rather than exert any control over Big Oil.

That’s what we could do today. We could transition our economy specifically & including the fossil fuel industry into a warp speed effort to establish a green energy grid. What we did in World War II we can do today once people realize climate change is the same level threat. 2/2

If they were going to violate the rules, they at least could have used the money to build schools.
I wrote about Alabama's plan to use $400 million in Covid relief funds to construct three new prisons, which should violate Treasury guidelines on how Covid funds may be spent.
But the Treasury also said it won't necessarily enforce those guidelines.

That’s exactly what the corporatists will not not do. To them, an emergency means anything that cuts into their short-term profits.
Which means that *they* are the emergency!
Know that climate disasters this summer are only the beginning and they will get catastrophically worse until we end the fossil fuel industry. Everything humanity does depends on a livable climate. End fossil fuels rapidly and equitably. Switch into emergency mode
