And these are the same kind of lawmakers who oppose red flag laws.
Due to 40 plus years during which corporate profit has replaced democracy as the governing principle of our society a small group of Americans have received the extraordinary bounty of this corporatist scheme while 4 out of 10 Americans now struggle economically on a daily basis.

Some Republican lawmakers are suggesting surveillance cameras to track license plates in case people are trying to leave the state to attain an abortion. There was a time when I would’ve thought not to worry because something that sick and draconian would never get past SCOTUS.

They're doing it to save money! Bernie's plan was to charge them for every cancelled flight, which would solve the problem very quickly. But of course it was ignored.

An example is all the money given to airlines on the condition that they wouldn't lay off workers. They took the $, laid off workers anyway & now cancel flights due to what they say are labor shortages. Buttegieg tells them to act nicer! Also tells us we can get refunds or miles
Fed finds 75% of $800 billion Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) didn't reach workers. More than 90% of the PPP loans were forgiven, going to the ultra-wealthy. A known scam as it was happening under the Trump admin. All while unemployment was abruptly cut. justthenews.com/nation/state…

What the WH calls “out of step with the mainstream of the Democratic Party” is what’s “in step” with the Democratic Party principles of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the New Deal. The corporate Dems are the ones who hijacked the party.
Remarkable statement from the White House, defending its tepid response to abortion by trashing... the left. washingtonpost.com/politics/…

Monsanto profits have taken precedence over human health for decades, with deadly consequences.
For how many years is it that the 'alarmists' have been saying that the widespread use of Roundup was a bad idea? But governments found it more lucrative to listen to the Monsanto lobbyists instead. theguardian.com/us-news/2022…

100 per cent.
We are still addicted to fossil fuels. The only true path to energy security, stable power prices, prosperity & a livable planet lies in quitting fossil fuels & accelerating the transition to renewables.

Thank you @RepAndreCarson for introducing this NDAA amendment to require a US-led investigation into the killing of @AlJazeera journalist #ShireenAbuAkleh. It's a critical step to determine who was responsible and if US weapons were used. @USProgressives jewishcurrents.org/progressi…

Yep
A real “pro-life” movement would ban assault rifles while enacting Medicare for All, paid sick leave, universal childcare, and a living wage.

Govt is not the "solution" but it should absolutely serve us. Those are our own tax $ after all. It was Reagan's triumph to demonize govt in order to be able to turn all resources over to the private sector. Now we reflexively look to *it* to solve problems, which is even worse.
