Correct. But all of us, not just the left.
History's lesson: when a society's majority loses any way to obtain solutions for its deepening problems while a rich minority enriches itself by buying the gov't, the bonds holding that society together dissolve. The US left must face that reality.

Yes yes yes yes yes. Exactly.
The biggest threat to democracy is ignoring what the overwhelming majority wants. 84% want Medicare to cover dental, vision & hearing 72% want to expand Social Security 71% want to #TaxTheRich 67% want to ban assault weapons 62% want a $15 minimum wage 59% want to codify Roe

POTUS could declare a medical emergency & expand Medicare to everyone, declare a climate emergency & warp speed a green energy grid, plus cancel the college loan debt - all those things TONIGHT! We've been trained to expect too little, to take "I can't do anything" for an answer.

I could win that I don't think it would be fair.
My God. Yeah definitely, the issue is that we need to send them more money. chron.com/news/houston-texas…

I think we should care about both. But I do understand why anyone who is having a hard time putting food on the table would think that govt putting more focus on the 1/6 investigation than on their economic hardship, is a cynical betrayal of their interests. They’re right.

I'm an FDR Democrat and it's like the party has been taken over by the Duponts and Morgans. It doesn't "divide" us to point that out; adults people can handle a truthful dialogue. To be a Dem means we have to acquiesce to its corporatist element? Really??

Right. And then what happened? Use your google finger. No one doubts the ability of Democrats to *say* the right thing. And there's the rub.

There is currently zero consumer protection left in our system. Any effort to go near there gets branded as "socialism." The president has the power to override endless corporate profit-making in the interest of the national good, but he won't.

Let me guess. If I had said capitalism instead of corporations?

Inflation is causing Americans anywhere between $340-$450/mo more in food costs, casting millions more into hunger & poverty. Biden's willingness to blame all this on Putin and not call to task the unmitigated unregulated greed of American corporations is cynical & disgusting.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I use twitter for political postings, but to me it’s not just noise. My spiritual postings are here (subscriptions are FREE). mariannewilliamson.substack.…

Trump told the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by." Then when he wanted them to come to DC to stop an election, he said so. So they did. I don't see that as a distraction from the other issues. I see it as fundamental to whether or not we'll ever be able to address them.

What corporation did I support? And my experience of politicians is that some of them are in there trying to do the very things you and I want. The Democratic Party leadership is not every politician who is there.
