Their power is not determined by whether or not we participate in them. In certain cases not participating only empowers them more

The reason Americans don’t trust our institutions is because the institutions have proven themselves untrustworthy. From Congress to SCOTUS to WH to big business, institutions expected to be at least on some level responsible to the people have been exploitative and even cruel.

“Some men see things as they are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were, and ask why not.” - Robert F. Kennedy June 6, 1968. A loss unlike any other. Everything we feared would happen when he died, has happened. May he Rest In Peace.

Jesus spoke. Confucius spoke. Buddha spoke. Lincoln spoke. Gandhi spoke. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke. We should probably retire this one.

Poor children are expendable to them.
GOP is blocking renewing the free school lunch program—which feeds 23M kids daily—because of the $11B cost. Meanwhile, GOP voted to approve $40B in military aid to Ukraine & wants to spend tens of billions more arming teachers🤔 “They got money for war, but can’t feed the poor.”

We’re going to have to dig a whole lot deeper if we want to heal this country. We’re going to have to look into the roots of our despair. @MatthewAlbracht nails it. salon.com/2022/06/05/violenc…

You think we have crises now…? - just wait til our current generation of massively traumatized kids grows up. This country has no idea what’s barging down the tracks at us now. Our collect neglect and abuse will come back to haunt us; it already is.

There are 2.5 million homeless children in America today. That should be considered an emergency but it’s not. Children can’t vote and have no economic leverage, therefore they’re considered expendable by the system.

Instead of repealing Roe v. Wade, SCOTUS should be repealing Citizens United. The undue influence of money on our system is destroying our democracy. We have to stop this. blueamerica.crooksandliars.c…
