Cuellar is anti-choice, a close friend of Big Oil, and gets an A rating from the NRA. Yet Pelosi, Clyburn & Hoyer went all out to support him. The entire House Democratic leadership should resign their positions. Their hypocrisy is enough to make millions stay home in November.

More serious background checks. Outlaw assault weapons. Outlaw bump stocks. Beef up red flag laws. Don't let convicted violent offenders or the criminally insane buy guns (DUH!?!). The ease of access in this country to the most powerful guns is obscene.

We might not have been able to stop all those deaths, but we could have stopped a lot of them.

So not the point, and surely you know that.

Ease of access had a lot to do with it.

“Spare me the bullshit about mental illness. We don’t have any more mental illness than any other country in the world. We’re not an outlier on mental illness … We’re an outlier when it comes to access to firearms." - Senator Chris Murphy

This tragedy doesn't just say something about the shooter; it says something about all of us. Particularly it says something about our Congress, which is dripping in blood money donated by the NRA.mariannewilliamson.substack.…

19 children now dead in Uvalde. None of us should be able to turn away from these numbers.

Progressive Jessica Cisneros in an extremely close Congressional race in Texas tonight against Henry Cuellar. Pelosi, Clyburn and Hoyer all vigorously supported Cuellar, who's the only House Democrat with an A rating from the NRA.

Common sense gun safety laws. Ban bump stocks. Better, more serious background checks. Outlaw assault weapons. Beef up red flag laws. They won't fix everything but all of those things would save lives. In a sane society that young man would never have been able to get those guns.

"Where in God's name is our backbone?" The president is right. An 18 yr old being able to walk into a gun store & buy 2 assault weapons doesn't just say something about him; it says something about us. Call your reps at 202 224 3121 & say you want action, not whoredom to the NRA.
