The end of every historical era is difficult but this doesn’t have to be the end of civilization. It’s a phase transition to something either really bad or really good, depending on what we make of it.

The World Economic Forum thinking they have any right whatsoever to weigh in on limits to free speech is ridiculous.

Everything from traditional Dems to the CDC to the CBC protect incumbents as though it’s always justifiable, putting perpetuation of the system before any efforts to regreen it.

Absolutely.
A persistent theme in the media and pundit class’s relationship with American authoritarians: credulous refusal to look at patterns, and insistence that “fair” discussions only assess the right’s current demand. Anyone who points out likely next moves is dismissed as “unhelpful.”

This was normal Sunday morning breakfast when I was growing up: My uncles: “Don’t listen to your dad kids, you’ll never make any money.” My father: “Don’t listen to your uncles kids, they won’t survive the revolution.” My mother: “So who wants whitefish and who wants lox?”

Anytime someone says “I had lunch at the White House but I can’t tell you what the President said”they’re just trying to brag about the fact that they had lunch at the White House.

Hitler was democratically elected and wildly popular too. Many are attracted to the autocratic strongman. We have seen that here as well.

I wouldn’t go that far! I think progressives need to do everything possible to get moderates to actually DO something in the next few months to make people feel there’s an actual contrasting agenda to the GOP insanity.

What’s my “pro-lib line?”
Today’s GOP goes to DC literally to do nothing to help anyone, but block the Democrats when they try to. On the state level they’re very busy making lives of women less free & in some cases truly dangerous. And they host CPAC with Hungarian dictator Orban! thehill.com/policy/internati…

Every word.
In just 60 seconds, I listed the dozens of common-sense, hugely-popular Democratic bills that House Republicans have voted against: from baby formula money to free hearing aids to background checks to $1400 checks to many more. Watch/share my #minuterant:
