A persistent theme in the media and pundit class’s relationship with American authoritarians: credulous refusal to look at patterns, and insistence that “fair” discussions only assess the right’s current demand. Anyone who points out likely next moves is dismissed as “unhelpful.”

I wouldn’t go that far! I think progressives need to do everything possible to get moderates to actually DO something in the next few months to make people feel there’s an actual contrasting agenda to the GOP insanity.
