In the November 2008 elections, the Democratic Party increased its majorities in both chambers (including - when factoring in the two Democratic caucusing independents - a brief filibuster-proof 60-40 supermajority in the Senate).
Obama said in his campaign he was going to do it. Everyone has known for a long time that it needed to be codified to be secure. Repubs certainly weren’t going to but Dems have had several opportunities. I have a strong feeling that if men got pregnant this would’ve been handled.
