We had 20 years to help build a truly democratic government in Afghanistan, one that certainly could have held off the Taliban for more than ten days. Instead we enabled a corrupt Afghan govt and used the war to do little more than enrich the military industrial complex. #shame
I am heartbroken for the female activists now being abducted by the Taliban in Afghanistan, and remain furious at how the US did not even try to prioritize their escape when we made our exit.
A lot of politics is psychological - a shift from hopelessness and nihilism to it's-going-to-happen-because-we-say-so. Nothing serves an oppressor more than for the oppressed to feel they have no options. On Feb. 16 you can meet a lot of them.

Why is it police culture remains so unchanged? Who/what so infiltrated their ranks that white supremacy is now endemic to its culture? Why isn't government responding to deaths like that of #AmirLocke? It's unacceptable how we're always just waiting for the next time it happens.
