This is very sad.
Incredibly disappointed in the CA State Assembly. We had a chance to have universal healthcare in California, and they blew it. We only needed 41 of 56 Dems to vote yes and they ran the clock. The bill is dead. #shame #ab1400 #CalCare #UniversalHealthcare

Do you have an answer for this, Mr. President?
Here's a piece of info for you from our friends @inequalityorg and @rooseveltinst Presidential action to forgive 50k of student loan debt would increase black wealth by FORTY PERCENT. Oh my god. How can we not do this?

Either we’re headed for one big Apocalypse of some sort, or enough of us will take the wisdom we gained from our personal battles & apply it to the situation at hand. We needn’t manifest a collective Apocalypse if we learn enough from our individual ones. mariannewilliamson.substack.…

In this very difficult moment, when we’re trying to prevent the destruction of American democracy, when we’re trying to save the planet, when we’re trying to protect working families, now is the time, more than ever before, to be clear on what we stand for.

I disagree. In a court of law you swear “to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.” Too many in govt tell the truth… but not the whole truth, or nothing but the truth.

The only way we’re going to beat outrageous lies is if we’re willing to tell outrageous truths.

Absolutely. But outrage over deliberate misinformation is something that should have universal application. Bush & Cheney deliberately misinformed and millions died because of it; the fact they weren’t here at home doesn’t mean it doesn’t matter. Too many were like, “Oh well…”

We’re too selective with our outrage regarding “misinformation.” Often it’s a concept used to direct our attention to where officialdom wants us to be upset, while in other areas the same officialdom is misinforming us on a daily basis. The US war machine thrives on misinformation

Just to be clear, at least 15 years of US military presence in Afghanistan was based on “misinformation” coming from the highest levels of our govt. Thousands of Americans, at least hundreds of thousands of Afghans died because of it. No bigger “misinformer” than the Pentagon.

Yes it is. From Germany to Rwanda, there are plenty of examples of hate speech turning genocidal. For many of us there are limits to what's okay. That doesn't make us less principled; we just think there are some higher ones.
