America has a permanent underclass which is dealt with simply by leaving it out of the conversation, normalizing people’s despair and pretending they don’t exist. Since the pandemic began, millions more have fallen into poverty and billionaires have only increased their wealth.
Here’s the deal: America is the only leading economy in the world where the economy as a whole is stronger than before the pandemic.

I don’t know what’s more disturbing, the pattern of racism in the military or the fact that a state legislator introduced a resolution calling the report of it “incendiary journalism” and asked the legislature to reprimand the AP!
