Today is the day when Britain will declare whether or not it will extradite Assange. It’s a terrible day for freedom of the press if they do.

A radical humanitarianism is the greatest antidote to an economically soulless age.

America has a permanent underclass which is dealt with simply by leaving it out of the conversation, normalizing people’s despair and pretending they don’t exist. Since the pandemic began, millions more have fallen into poverty and billionaires have only increased their wealth.
Here’s the deal: America is the only leading economy in the world where the economy as a whole is stronger than before the pandemic. Our economic plans are working.

This is horrifying.
This morning hundreds of homes in our community found plastic bags outside their homes filled with a hateful anti-Semitic flyer and small pebbles. @MiamiBeachPD is actively investigating to determine their origin. As a precaution we’ve increased patrols in our neighborhoods and…

Thich Nhat Hanh has earned a joyful rest, his work on earth extraordinarily well done. If he experiences now even a fraction of the blessing he brought to the world, then his soul is in a state of unending joy. Our work is to carry on. mariannewilliamson.substack.…

“ACA will do it.” 1) And when will that be? 2) It still doesn’t remove the full-profit middle man. Of course they call their eradication a “myth”:)

#Medicare4All would completely remove the for profit middleman. Such economic bloodsucking is totally unnecessary.
JUST IN: UnitedHealth Group’s 2021 earnings report is the biggest in health insurance history with $24 Billion in profits. This was announced just days after the Commonwealth Fund's report that showed deductibles are skyrocketing for Americans. wendellpotter.substack.com/p…

Money flowing through a society is like blood flowing through the body. Extreme wealth inequality is like all the blood flowing into just one arm. See how long the body survives.

I don’t know what’s more disturbing, the pattern of racism in the military or the fact that a state legislator introduced a resolution calling the report of it “incendiary journalism” and asked the legislature to reprimand the AP!
A career first: A Republican state legislator in Tennessee introduced a resolution Thursday in response to our AP investigation of racism in the U.S. military. He accused us of “incendiary journalism” & wants the legislature to “reprimand the AP.” We stand by our reporting.

I know. Who’d a thunk it?
Who would have thought you could avoid mass resignations with a decent minimum wage, free health care, guaranteed paid parental leave, mandated paid vacations, guaranteed paid sick leave, affordable child care, union protections and regulations on company greed

The death of Thich Nhat Hanh is the disappearance of a brilliant soul, but he will continue to bless our paths forever. May all of us seek in whatever way we can to fill the void. Deep praise and gratitude to an enlightened teacher. May he Rest In Peace. bbc.com/news/world-asia-6009…

No they should not.
The American people should not have to fight tooth-and-nail against wealthy and powerful corporate interests for decent wages, health care, pensions and safe working conditions.
