That is the point. We need to harness the conscience of the American people for political purposes. Just as Trump harnessed the power of bigotry and hate, we need to harness the power of decency and love.

The Indian revolution that threw the British out of India, plus the civil rights movement in the US in the 1960s
No, violence is destroying this country. It is the problem, not the solution.

That is NOT what non-violence is. Read up.

To me, the tyrant is unfettered and unregulated capitalism. It's not a switch you just turn off. Economies in Europe that are hybrids of free market and socialist forces are working. Why not that, Peter?

Michael Lewis, author of the incredible "The Fifth Risk" and also "The Big Short," explains the pandemic in this important book. One of the smartest voices out there. goodreads.com/book/show/5679…

Unacceptable morally and naive politically. Not only do they have more guns, they have more people who really know how to use them. Violence is not an option for the awakened heart and mind.

The important political movement of the recent past, often overlooked, is a movement in people minds: workers on both right and left beginning to realize they’re being oppressed by the same systemic forces. That’s the most fertile ground for the beginning of fundamental change.

Yes. King went to India, studied Gandhian principles of non-violence and brought them back to apply to the struggle for civil rights in the US in the 1960’s

There’s no reason to expect them to behave in this area any differently than they’ve been behaving in pretty much every area for the last 40 years. Large corporate interests have been running the show for years.

Public health decisions should be purely based on public health, not the needs of CEOs. I truly hope the CDC is making decisions that will keep us safe instead of protecting corporate bottom lines. money.usnews.com/investing/n…

No they will not. But we can create such a massive electoral wave that they will not be able to stop it.
