Julie Oliver’s endorsement means a lot. I had already endorsed Derek but the two of them together are a big “Let’s do this!”
Big news!! @JulieOliverTX is a progressive powerhouse and I’m thrilled to receive her endorsement. It will take all of us working together to build the grassroots power we need to flip this district blue and gain a seat back for Dems. This takes us one step closer to that win!

Yes we’re facing a rising tide of authoritarianism but it won’t be defeated militarily. And not true about the $ either. The war in Afghanistan was $2.3T and $2T went to defense contractors. Our defense establishment is not about defending democracy so much as profit for the MIC.

We should be supporting democracy, and not paternalistically thinking we know which side is better. It shouldn’t be our call.

Handouts for Billionaires PayGo for the people This is Authoritarianism @AOC: "No one asks how we're going to pay for the Space Force. We only ask how we pay for it on issues of housing, healthcare and education."

I love him so much.
As a nation, we need to get our priorities right. I wanted to take a minute to tell you why I’m voting against the defense spending bill.

We really really need to listen to this man. I appreciate the roads, the bridges, the broadband, the better trains. But something far, far bigger than those things is at stake here. There are great roads and fast trains in autocracies and dictatorships throughout the world.

Dems are really really running out of time to pass Freedom to Vote Act & John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act that would ban extreme gerrymandering before they're out of power for next decade & completely unable to reverse GOP attacks on democracy

Remarkable.
I can tell you from our experience in California that you can have the best environmental plans, but if you don’t have the courage to stand up to the special interests when they threaten you, sue you, and spend a fortune against you, you have nothing.

No it is not.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not sure “the parliamentarian told us we can’t raise the minimum wage, but we could give Jeff Bezos $10 billion to go to the moon” is a very effective strategy.

Is that what they really think people dream of?
President @JoeBiden signing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal is proof that Democrats and Republicans can come together and deliver results for the American people.

3/ Having in many ways obstructed rather than served the forces that would better the lives of so many people in Latin America over the last 50 years, the US has thereby contributed to the suffering of millions who are now banging on our door. Karma much?

2/ For decades the US government has done more to serve profit maximization for American corporations exploiting Latin America than to serve genuinely democratic ideals. We have even done so violently, in many ways to the detriment of genuinely democratic forces.

1/ On the subject of Latin America and the migrant crisis, as on so many issues, neither major party is willing to do the level of truth-telling required for us to truly unravel the problem.
