The fact that Biden, Pelosi and the rest of them were trying to spin today’s unveiling as a victory, as so “transformational,” felt off key to me. I think it would have been better had they said, “Yeah, we’re disappointed too.”mariannewilliamson.substack.…

I would argue that you’re the naive one here, as well as condescending. The possibility of Trumpster-types arguing “alternative worlds” instead of just “alternative facts” should inspire more real conversation, not just a snarkfest.

Oh my God I love her.
Fossil Fuel companies are sitting on 13.9 million acres of our federal land they aren't even using—and they want even more. If each acre were a grain of rice, that would be 479 pounds. I demonstrated at a hearing with Big Oil ⬇️

To follow up since some seem to think it's funny. What Meta can create will be millions of times more powerful than games on instagram, phone pics or any holograms that now exist. With Zuck's $ and heft this will create something that can be weaponized against the world. Not funny

No it's not. What someone can do on their instagram page or with their pics now is nothing compared to what Zuckerburg is going to make available on a mass level. This will have huge impact. And it's not hilarious at all.

Now it will have the money & heft of *Zuckerberg* behind it. That takes it to a whole new place; we can't know how quickly or slowly it will progress. I doubt he would have done it if he weren't already pretty far along. We have to concern ourselves with both real AND unreal now

Seventy per cent richer.
Serious question: How can you believe a billionaire tax is too radical when U.S. billionaires got 70% richer during the greatest global health crisis in a century?

Zuckerburg changing FB to Meta & saying they're going to be concentrating on virtual reality is not good news. It could be a fast track to the worst things possible. Anyone will be able to create holograms of the prez talking, for instance, but you won't really know if it's her.

I did, nor do I apologize. I see no principles or decency in voting for a neofascist. Neoliberals, we can still take on.

It’s not enough for individuals to be kind, if public policies are not.

I don't think it's about hating the poor; it's about feeling no sense of ethical responsibility one way or the other for the poor, which is colder and almost worse. It's a sociopathic phenomenon that results from an amoral economic system. Amoral systems lead to immoral results.
