Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay2021, tho there's a way in which we should be grieving on this day as much as celebrating. Not enough for @POTUS to acknowledge the day; he should also shut down Pipeline 3, protect the water protectors & stop arresting indigenous protestors at the WH.

I appreciate your sincerity but it’s simply untrue. In the 1970s the average American worker had decent pay, decent benefits, could own a home and car, could send their kids to college & take a yearly vacation. Taxes were much higher for the very rich & corporations - that’s why!

That’s simply incorrect. Corporate subsidies, deregulation and huge tax cuts for the very rich DOES constitute giving them money.

Yeah that’s the trickle down propaganda that began in the 1980s: all that money given to the very rich was going to trickle down and lift all boats. Well it didn’t. And it left millions of people without even life rafts. At this point it’s a delusional lie.

Actually I’m quite serious. We have got to stand up to this idea that treating people well is economically irresponsible, while those who perpetuate a dangerously unjust corporatist agenda are somehow the mature adults in the room.

Because each of us carries a God-given spirit of creativity and productivity. Look at a Montessori kindergarten classroom and tell me the human spirit isn’t creative. People were not born with the spirit of a couch potato.
