A country willing to spend obscene amounts of money lining pockets of defense contractors & building coffers of the ultra rich, but which can’t bring itself to support basic survival needs of its own people, is a country in moral decline and on its way to intense political chaos.

Those trying to obstruct the Build Back Better bill because of “out of control spending” have no problem with national security out-of-control spending even though it has very little to do with national security.
Annual Pentagon budget: $700+ billion
Annual cost of the Build Back Better bill: $350 billion
If "moderates" are so concerned about spending, why did they just vote to increase funds for the Pentagon?

A catastrophic failure of US journalism and politics is that something like Biden's 10-year, $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill is not called a $350 billion annual bill...but the Pentagon's budget, which will exceed $7.5 trillion over a decade, is called a $750 billion annual bill
