Yep.
Corporate greed is Nike increasing its profit by 125% last year to $5.7 billion & blaming "inflation" for a 10.5% price spike on a pair of expensive sneakers made by workers in Vietnam earning less than a buck an hour while Phil Knight became $26.7 billion richer in the pandemic.

Yes. So well said.

No, it's the greed of the corporations that's at work here.

It should basically be replaced, like the steam engine. There should be a warp speed effort to justly transition from fossil fuel extraction to green energy. The fossil fuel industry could and should lead the effort, whereas now they simply thwart it.

Really? What do you call Hitler's power over people, or even Trump's for that matter, if not "a compelling charm which inspire devotion in others?" Calling it bs is a pseuo-intellectual's cover for a feeling of utter powerlessness in understanding or dealing with it.

Corporate greed should be taxed. What a thought.
Gasoline prices (and Big Oil profits) are way up. We need a windfall tax to take some of those gains and send them back to the American people.

Realizing what causes it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Perhaps not recognizing that is part of our problem.

What also weird is how many New Yorkers never tour the city. I saw more of New York as a tourist than I did during the times I've lived there. (Hi, John)

In the midst of the current set of horrors – war, oligarchy, pandemics, inflation, climate change, etc. – we must continue the fight to establish health care as a human right, not a privilege. I will soon be reintroducing our Medicare for All legislation.

So disgusting.
Extraordinary account here of a phone call between Boris Johnson and Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman “I miss you,” one quipped. “I miss you more,” the other replied, according to a senior U.K. official. politico.eu/article/bromance…
