When all the votes were actually counted Al Gore had won the election in 2000. The Supreme Court basically stopped the Florida count and gave Bush the presidency. Had Gore won we would have started a needed war against climate change and not a tragic war against Saddam Hussein.
We need climate action NOW. We cannot rely on vague pledges with distant deadlines. We need concrete plans to phase out fossil fuels in the near term.
As the scientists at the @IPCC_CH make clear: there is no time left to waste.

That 15yr-old boy will be traumatized for a long time over this. The family is owed more than an apology, which actually they didn't even receive. If this police dept. calls their rules "appropriate" then that community should make it clear there's nothing appropriate about them.
