The issue isn’t just how parts of the government both Dem & GOP attack the press; the issue is also how certain parts of the mainstream press conspire in erasing the most important conversations. Why aren’t the @nytimes, @CNN & @MSNBC discussing #JulianAssange & #StevenDonziger?

Trump called the press "the enemy of the people." @POTUS disagrees, which is why he should immediately drop all charges against #JulianAssange. An attack on press freedom is an attack on democracy. Assange wasn't the criminal here; the criminals are those who committed war crimes

You sure about that? I mean, I know it’s the talking points and all.

The Black Hills of South Dakota should be given back to the Sioux. They were promised in a treaty in 1864.

Wait. You think “A Course in Miracles” says we should make the rich richer and the poor poorer? Odd reading.

No it would not have a significantly negative effect on the economy. Not even close.

Third graders haven’t learned that much yet.
Americans have been trained to expect so little compared to the citizens of other advanced democracies.
Socialism is an economic system. Democracy is a political system. You can have both.

Stop the madness.
Reminder: The costs associated with enforcing the ban on marijuana, including arrests, court costs, and incarceration, reach nearly $14 billion a year. It’s time to end this madness.

He does. But no amount of private charity can compensate for a basic lack of social justice.

A billionaire I know once told me “My taxes are so low it’s obscene.” There should be a #WealthTax of 2% on assets over $50M & and an additional 1% on assets over $1B. Our government’s groveling at the feet of the ultra rich is the surrender of our democracy to oligarchic rule.

Staggering numbers.
The collective wealth of Big Tech CEOs soared to $651 billion in 2021. That money could: -End global hunger ($330B) -Eradicate malaria ($120B) -End homelessness in America ($20B) -Vaccinate the world from COVID-19 ($25B) And they would still have billions to spare.

Important thread. Horrifyingly true.
Auschwitz personnel, 1944. Ordinary people, not monsters, make atrocities happen.
