2/ Today we remember the soldiers themselves, the majority of whom died horrific deaths far away from home. This is a holiday, but not a happy one. A day to remember, to thank others for their sacrifice, and commit to the creation of a world in which war will be merely a memory.

1/ Over a million Americans have died fighting for this country. Some were drafted, some volunteered, some died in wars that were righteously fought while others of those wars were tragically and even criminally misguided.

First of all the US is in trouble on such levels the last thing we are in a position to do is brag over Sweden. But of course they’re not a purely socialist economy & no one is arguing that we should be here either.

If we didn’t have such a right wing SCOTUS this would be a joke; Texas wouldn’t dare to do it and no one would worry even if they did. The problem is that with the current SCOTUS there’s a chance they can get away with it.

Politicians are just people. You don’t vote for somebody thinking you’re going to totally agree with every single thing they do. Voting for someone doesn’t mean “blind support.”
