I’ve been ambivalent about this. Conversation with women’s groups in Afghanistan would’ve been a large factor in my decision-making. Even before 9/11 the Taliban was a source of brutal behavior towards women there. Truly horrifying.

I’m not going to be made wrong but your historical revisionism. You’re leaving the Taliban out of this entirely and it’s ridiculous. The Taliban was slaughtering women before the United States was even there.
