None of what you’re pointing to justifies the settlements. It doesn’t make them right.

I understand. I really really do. It is heartbreaking. But until the Israeli government changes its policies there will never be peace. I understand all of it, everything you say. But we’re the ones who have to change. It is God, not brute force that is the source of our strength

We tolerate this. Notice other nations do not tolerate it. And why do we tolerate it? Because we put profits for chemical companies before the well-being of our children. #MoneyOutOfPolitics theintercept.com/2020/01/18/…

This is very beautiful to see.
Nature is essential to the health, well-being, and prosperity of every family and every community in America. Today, we announced our efforts to conserve at least 30% of lands and waters by 2030.  #AmericaTheBeautiful go.usa.gov/xHvvY

I am not one-sided. I recognize the tragedy of all this no less than you do. And the irony. And the unfairness. But the fact remains that the oppression of the Palestinians has got to stop. The occupation and the settlements are wrong, and nothing in our past can justify them.

I don’t bash Israel. You can say that I do but I don’t.

What is there to speak up about? Of course the Palestinian- Israeli conflict is filled with lies on both sides, pretty much all the time. The point is to discern the main dynamics and to seek somehow to correct them.

I was pro America even when Trump was president! We can talk all we want about Palestinian violence and it certainly exists, but we can’t just pretend the policies of the Israeli government are not oppressive and unjust. If anything as Jews it’s our responsibility to call it out.

I am a Jew. I am pro Israel. But that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t call out oppressive or unjust behavior on the part of the Israeli govt any more than I shouldn’t call out oppressive or unjust behavior on the part of my own. A Jewish state can only survive if based on Jewish values.

It is so beyond outrageous.
