Given conservative ideals of small government & liberal ideals of good government, Left & Right should be able to agree on ditching the Patriot Act, ICE & the Department of Homeland Security. Each of them represent government overreach & pave the way to creeping authoritarianism.

DHS now has to rout out white supremacy from its ranks, was responsible for violence against protesters in Portland last year, & obviously failed to protect Congress on January 6. The #DHSShouldBeAbolished nytimes.com/2021/04/26/us/po…

This is going way too slow. They want to lower Medicare eligibility to 55? They should lower it to 0! Why should military expenditures expand by leaps and bounds and humanitarian expenditures expand in incremental steps?
Proud to be leading this effort! Progressives, moderates, and frontliners from across the country agree that @POTUS should prioritize expanding and improving Medicare as part of the American Families Plan.

We could have Medicare4All, free college tuition and so much more… But instead we’re spending the money on military equipment that the military doesn’t even ask for.
NEW: The U.S. blew $778,000,000,000 on military spending in 2020. That is unconscionable. citizen.org/news/statement-7…

Saying yes to something new is always saying no to something old. Not fighting the old, but letting it die. And sometime that means non-violent resistance.

During the Trump presidency there was a singular focus on resisting his agenda. The work at a time like this is even harder, less adrenaline-filled. It’s the more complicated work of resisting the conditions that produced him to begin with.

I think he’s great. I listen to/read him a lot. And I think I know what they mean.

It was Reagan who started the orgy of de-regulation.

And remember who they buy it from. Most of it was equipment made by defense contractors for the perpetual war machine. As they keep producing more, they say “Send the older models to the boys back home.” That’s how our police became so militarized to begin with.
