America is in decline & has been for a long time. Trump led us from decline to death spiral. Biden stopping the direct vertical descent- but it will take every ounce of energy any of us can spend for the rest of our lives to counter the weight of our national karma & ascend again

We absolutely can. A $2T tax cut where $.83 of every dollar went to the very rich corporations and individuals did not create a “good” economy. The fact that more people were employed is not of itself “good” given how many were working 2 & 3 jobs at too low wages just to survive.

Despite all that’s happened & is happening, I agree with Biden you should never bet against America. A nation that has done some horrible things has also shown a historical tendency, after some horrifying detours, to ultimately do the right thing. In my heart I feel we will again

This is the deal. It’s a legitimate debate. You make reasonable points. My only point to you is that we could’ve had this conversation without it having been brought about by hurling an insult. Definitely it’s risky to abolish it, but remember also where the filibuster came from.

I heard @maddow say 45 million people on food stamps will now get $230/mo more because of the Covid bill & “it’s a really big deal.” No, what’s a really big deal -really bad deal -is that in our country of 330 million people there are 45 million who need food stamps to begin with
