2/ Keep your eye on @jontester, who is re-introducing bills to create a constitutional amendment that would overturn the Citizens United decision and declare that corporations are not people. Until then, corporations and billionaires will influence our government more than we do.

1/ Getting money out of politics is the greatest moral challenge of our generation. Its undue influence is the cancer underneath all the other political cancers that beset us.

We spend over $900 Billion a year to make sure we can wage war, but our State Department gets $40 Billion a year to even try to wage peace.

I saw that in Australia! They take off at the same time every day in Australia and in Austin, Texas. Such an extraordinary phenomenon.

You get to actually see this every day? Does anybody have any idea why they do it in that place every day? Is it at the same time? Is it different patterns?

This is not about our security. It’s about our insanity.
Welcome to the new age of bloated Pentagon budgets, all to be justified by the great Chinese threat. My take:

I regret saying that. It was sloppy & I should not have said it. I do think there is predatory behavior on the part of big Pharma on this issue, but I don’t think deep depression is a scam any more than physical pain is a scam. They both exist & should be treated appropriately.

2/ I don’t apologize for complaining about the over-pharmaceuticalization of Americans. For people in deep depression antidepressants can obviously be very helpful. But prescribing them long term for less than deep depression, particularly given they are addictive, is a problem.

1/ I think OxyContin should exist; it was very helpful to me after surgery. But predatory pharmaceutical execs have been convicted for $billions for contributing to crisis of 450,000 opioid overdoses, purposely creating profit centers that went beyond actual medical need.

I’m very glad you received the medication you need. There are people for whom anti-depressants are life-saving. And I never said that anyone is spiritually deficient.

I have never misled anyone. I have never told anyone not to take their medicine. There are people like you who seem deeply invested in that mischaracterization. medium.com/@davidkessler_884…

Right back at you, Sir. You do not know me, you do not know my 37 year career, and you have no right to tell me or others what I stand for when I am very capable of doing so myself. Good night.

No scientist or dr. has to debunk my claims. Nothing I ever said undermines their field. They have their lane & I have mine. Integrative medicine is not some kooky thing. Oncologists often suggest to their patients that they attend spiritual support groups etc. It’s not either/or
