You might remember that I ran against him myself and then endorsed Bernie. I suggested we should vote for him against Trump, and I’m glad I did. I would do it again. A second Trump term would be far far worse.

Healthcare debate locked up by health insurance companies. Foreign policy debate locked up by military industrial complex. Political debate locked up by the corporate duopoly. Climate debate locked up by Big Oil. The list goes on. Face it, but then consider: There is another way.

This is how the police act in a police state; let’s stop pretending otherwise. We need to say those words and understand what they mean. You can have a free society or you can have a police state; you cannot have both.

Blockade needs to be lifted immediately on humanitarian grounds & decoupled from ongoing negotiations. The blockade has been in place for 6 years and is the main cause of starvation. Innocent Yemenis shouldn’t be used as leverage in political negotiations. apnews.com/article/coronavir…

So work, a regular citizen should express an opinion?

We were all excited by @POTUS ending US support for Saudi Arabian offensive measures against Yemen. But his refusal to call out KSA blockade against Yemen means we’re still playing footsies under the table with a cruel & murderous prince.#YemenCantWait . cnn.com/videos/tv/2021/03/10…

We’re putting the fight against Covid on a “war footing” because it threatens rich people as well as poor. We’re *not* putting the fight against poverty, inadequate healthcare, lack of education, or environmental or criminal injustice on a “war footing” because it doesn’t.

What changed is that she thinks it’s time now. She said it was too early then but she’s putting it up now.

Yes, it is. And I understand why. Smearing people Is one of the last forms of unchallenged oppression. There is an unrecognized emotional sadism to it, a delight at participating in the psychic annihilation of another human being:

Everything we need to repair the earth, rebuild our society & reinvigorate our democracy lies in unleashing the potential of the American people. But you can’t help people unleash their potential while you’re keeping them stuck in social and economic conditions that strangle them
