Systematic efforts to destroy a powerful Left has had at its core the effort to undermine unions over the last 40 years. It’s encouraging to see a new generation awakening to their importance. m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_6…

This is outrageous.
Texas Republicans have voted to remove Susan B. Anthony, Cesar Chavez, and Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have a Dream”speech and “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” from Texas social studies curriculum. bit.ly/3zfSZ34

There’s nothing for me to deny. We should leave Afghanistan, I understand that. It was wrong to be there 20 yrs. But I know what was activating me when I agreed with his tweet. I’m not going to apologize like it was some terrible thing. I know where my heart was in that moment.

Leaving people to live in uncertainty and terror because you're afraid that to do right by them might bring attacks from the GOP. How despicable that is.

I don’t. I experienced some ambivalence - I have a thing about the Taliban and women - so I agreed with something Kristol said that first day. I was wrong; I realize we do much more harm than good. I have a life’s work to support me here, much more than one tweet.

These women are so brave. The more attention the world gives to what's happening to them, the more likely they will be safe. Deep bow of respect for their extraordinary courage.
A small group of Afghan women risked their safety on Tuesday to test the Taliban's promise to respect women’s rights: They stood holding signs demanding the right to work and go to school mere feet from armed Taliban fighters. nyti.ms/3xUvonD
