Do you know how much we spend on defense every day? Way more than we'd be spending on plexiglass! And saving the lives of our children isn't worth it?

I'm a mother. I'm not unaware.

But Biden also said we have to provide safety for them to do so. Motive? How about being safe? That's a pure enough motive for me. Quite a few teachers have died and they know it. I don't fault any teacher for being deeply concerned. They have a right to be.

Look at the response right above yours. We're getting a lot of conflicting information on this. Not saying I know which is true, by the way. All of it is filled with difficult decisions.

I support teachers. No teacher should have to go back to the classroom who doesn't feel they've received everything they need - from plexiglass around desks to a vaccination if they want one - to ensure their safety and the safety of their students. #TeachersFirst

Many of us HAVE been saying it for decades.

Today is Holocaust Remembrance day, 76 years since the liberation of Auschwitz. Less than 100 years ago the world experienced an unspeakable evil; bearing witness to the agony of any people deepens our commitment to love them all. youtube.com/watch?v=xy_xWKJu…

@SecBlinken please...?
Lukashenka's regime is building concentration camps for protesters. One of the contractors revealed some images. It was supposed to accommodate 2000 detainees. I can't believe this is happening in 2021.

If everyone were paid fairly, everyone would make more money. On a deep level economic injustice doesn’t stem from someone’s fear of losing $; it’s based on a fear of losing power. It’s a subconscious fear that if I let you have the power you’ll treat me as badly as I treated you

Correct.
Imagine how much better our nation would be if the minimum wage were $23. If the minimum wage had grown at the rate of productivity since 1960, it would be $23. You know what’s extreme? That the minimum wage is only $7.25 and working people are getting screwed.

Don’t let him bully you, @SenSchumer.
Today, I made clear that if Democrats ever attack the key Senate rules, it would drain the consent and comity out of the institution. A scorched-earth Senate would hardly be able to function. It wouldn’t be a progressive’s dream. It would be a nightmare. I guarantee it.

Indeed.
Truly maddening to hear Mitch McConnell warn of “nightmare” if Dems abolish filibuster when he already killed it to put 3 Trump justices on Supreme Court & confirmed Amy Coney Barrett 8 days before election when 65 million had voted after blocking Merrick Garland for 237 days
